AM & MP CALL FOR COUNCIL TO RECONSIDER ON LIBRARIES
Brecon & Radnorshire’s AM Kirsty Williams and MP Roger Williams have written to the Chief Executive of Powys County Council, with a copy sent to the Chair of the Council’s Board, Cllr. Michael Jones, to protest about the manner in which the decision to close three branch libraries in Powys was taken by the Council’s Board recently, in order to find extra money for the Bookrunner Service to schools.

AM & MP’s FEAR FOR FUTURE OF TWO SOUTH POWYS HOSPITALS
Kirsty Williams AM & Roger Williams MP, representatives of Brecon & Radnorshire, have expressed their alarm at today’s announcement by Powys Local Health Board of proposals to close both Brecon and Bronllys Hospitals and to replace them with one single site.

“EU STALLING ON BRAZILIAN BEEF” - WILLIAMS
With Foreign Secretary Margaret Beckett in Brazil and the Royal Show kicking off in Stoneleigh today, Roger Williams, Liberal Democrat spokesperson for Food and Rural Affairs has argued that concerns are growing that the EU is not doing enough to avoid the risk of another foot and mouth epidemic in the UK from imports of Brazilian beef.
