MPs' CAMPAIGN PRODUCES BIG BOOST FOR LPG USERS
The long-running campaign by Brecon & Radnorshire's current Liberal Democrat MP, Roger Williams, and his predecessor, Richard Livsey (now Lord Livsey of Talgarth), has finally produced a big gain for householders and businesses that use liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tanks. Both politicians were convinced that LPG consumers have been getting a very raw deal, especially in rural areas like Mid Wales, both in the price they have been paying for LPG and in the costs they face when trying to change suppliers. The MPs said that the high costs involved in changing suppliers stifled competition, resulting in artificially higher prices for consumers.
