Following Oral Questions to the Secretary of State for Justice, Roger Williams MP, Member of Parliament for Brecon and Radnorshire, has called for a new police station, including custody cells, in Llandrindod Wells to ensure that the surrounding area is well served by the criminal justice system.

MP CRITICISES HER MAJESTY’S REVENUE AND CUSTOMS (HMRC) DURING WELSH QUESTIONS
Roger Williams has been very disappointed with HMRC’s decision to close the Brecon Tax Office by 2011 but there was a consolation that some jobs may be available in the Merthyr Office, particularly for those Brecon workers who would find it difficult to relocate to Cardiff for family and other reasons.

Leader of the House agrees to Roger Williams MP request
Following a constructive consultation meeting in Llanwrtyd Wells about proposed post office closures, Roger Williams, MP for Brecon and Radnorshire, obtained a guarantee from the Leader of the House, Harriet Harman MP, that the modelling system used by Royal Mail to determine which outreach services are being offered to communities threatened by post office closure would be placed in the House of Commons Library and made available to MPs.
