Wind energy: Friend or Foe?
Wind energy, once championed only by environmental fringe groups, now forms the basis of national energy policy and is on course to meet 10% of the Government’s target for renewables by 2010. But wind farms are an emotive issue, particularly in rural communities, where many view them as blots on the local landscape that discourage tourism, a vital economic driver in our countryside.

The Future of Welsh Farming
Recent figures show that 1 in 4 farms recorded a loss last year. Of course, farming families often have off-farm income such as bed and breakfast and employment in other businesses which enables them to survive. But it is a pretty parlous state for the industry and this is after UK farmers received over £1.5 billion in Single Farm Payments this year plus other subsidies for farming in hill areas and conservation schemes.
