Roger Williams, MP for Brecon and Radnorshire and Liberal Democrat Shadow Secretary of State for Wales, has backed the Stop Aids Campaign's call to fill the gap in the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria.
Mr Williams met with his constituent, Carmel Wiggins, during a lobby of Parliament and has signed up to the campaign to support the call for more funding to fight these diseases.
Mr Williams said:
"It is appalling that such an important issue has received such little funding.
"The number of people who die from these diseases because they lack access to vital medicines is shocking.
"The Government has committed £1bn to this Fund between 2008-11 and it is essential that they meet that commitment and do all they can to support these life saving programs."
