WILLIAMS TO CALL FOR MEETING WITH WELSH WATER OVER JOB LOSSES5.20.26pm GMT Wed 10th Feb 2010 Roger Williams, MP for Brecon and Radnorshire and Liberal democrat shadow Secretary of State for Wales, is pressing for a meeting with Welsh Water over reports that 300 jobs will be cut by the company. Roger Williams said: "The announcement of 300 job cuts will be a massive blow to many families across Wales, particularly in the current economic climate. "The settlement imposed on Welsh Water by OFWAT was particularly tough and they are obviously reacting to the effects of that settlement. "I will be requesting a meeting with Mr Annett of Welsh Water to see if there are any steps that can be taken to reduce the number of jobs threatened by this settlement."
