Our PetitionSummary of AimMountain Rescue Services Full Text of PetitionTo: Rt Hon Alistair Darling MP, Chancellor of the Exchequer We the undersigned, call on the Chancellor of the Exchequer to exempt Mountain Rescue Teams from paying VAT on equipment, vehicles and running costs. We note that the Mountain Rescue Teams receive no public funding, depend entirely on voluntary donations and save the UK Taxpayer some £6 million per year.
